Buskerud County Municipality, for the sake of road safety, has decided to cancel all school transport in large parts of Buskerud on Monday, 22nd January.
The decision was made after the County Governor, in the afternoon, consulted with the county municipality, the police, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and Brakar.
The reason is the forecasted heavy precipitation in the form of rain, and the weather change will likely result in very difficult driving conditions. The decision is made to ensure accessibility along the road for cleanup crews, emergency vehicles, and other essential transportation.
This means that all school transport to secondary schools, middle schools, and primary schools will be cancelled on Monday. This also applies to students who require special transportation. The exception is schools in the following municipalities: Flå, Nesbyen, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål, and Hol.
Brakar, in collaboration with our operator Vy, will assess what regular scheduled traffic can be operated. Updated information will be posted during Sunday. The customer service will be open on phone number 177 from 13:00 to 17:00.
