Cancellations

Due to the forecasted weather change, which is likely to result in very difficult driving conditions, a significant portion of bus traffic in Buskerud will be cancelled on Monday, 22nd January.

As previously announced, all school transportation in Buskerud (except in the municipalities of Flå, Nesbyen, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål, and Hol) is cancelled on Monday. In consultation with Vy, our bus operator, Brakar has decided to attempt running some routes on flat terrain, but most regular routes will be cancelled throughout Monday.

Safety and Accessibility

The decision has been made to ensure accessibility along the road for cleanup crews, emergency vehicles, and other essential transportation.

Several factors make the current weather change particularly challenging. The ground is frozen after a prolonged period of cold weather, and drains and sewers are clogged. This means that the rainwater has nowhere to go, leading to flooding and icy roads.

The road authorities state that they won’t be able to ensure that all roads are safe for bus traffic. Additionally, it’s crucial that buses don’t contribute to chaos on the roads, allowing those who truly need to drive to reach their destinations. Therefore, we also encourage everyone who doesn’t have to drive to leave their cars at home on Monday.

Customer Service Open from 13:00 to 17:00 on Sunday
