Bus Service Reduction

The Transport Committee in Buskerud County Municipality approved on Tuesday, 9th April, the coalition’s proposal for cuts to the bus route offerings in Buskerud. The proposal entails both major and minor reductions to the bus service across the county.

Brakar has been instructed by the county municipalities to cut NOK 45 million per year. The cuts, which have been approved, are primarily achieved by reducing summer routes, weekend services, routes in rural areas, and services outside of rush hour. Statutory school transport will not be affected.

The cuts will be implemented from the summer and autumn of 2024:

  • Cuts listed under “summer” in the overview will take effect at the end of the school term in June.
  • Cuts listed under “all year” and “winter” in the overview will take effect at the start of the school term in August (including route 169).
  • Routes 14, 15, 16, and 21 in Drammen will be discontinued at the start of the school term in August.

These routes will be affected:

Route 3 Fjell-Kastanjesletta

  • All year:
    Weekdays: Departures every half-hour instead of every 20 minutes before 06:00 and after 19:00. Between 06 and 19, buses will run every 10 minutes as before.
  • Winter:
    Saturdays: Departures every half-hour instead of every 20 minutes between 9–11 and 18–19.
  • Summer:
    Saturdays: Departures every half-hour instead of every 20 minutes between 9 and 18.

Route 4 Kniveåsen-Drammen busstasjon

  • Winter:
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing two trips in the morning and three in the evening).
    Sundays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing two trips in the morning and three in the evening).

Route 5 Tors vei-Vinnes

  • Winter:
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing two trips in the morning and three in the evening).
    Sundays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing two trips in the morning and two in the evening).
  • Summer:
    Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing one trip in the early morning and four in the evening).
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (removing four trips in the morning and four in the evening).
    Sundays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour all day (removing 12 trips between 11:00 and 22:00).

Route 14 Underlia-Strøtvet

  • This route will be discontinued. Pupils granted school transport will be taken care of.

Route 15 Drammen-Austad skog

  • This route will be discontinued. Pupils granted school transport will be taken care of.

Route 16 Drammen-Mælen/Skoger

  • This route will be discontinued. Pupils granted school transport will be taken care of.

Route 21 Drammen-Tolerud

  • This route will be discontinued. Pupils granted school transport will be taken care of.

Route 22 Drammen busstasjon-Konnerud-Andorsrud/Svingen
Route 24 Drammen busstasjon-Konnerud-Eikerdelet

  • Winter:
    Weekdays: Departures every half-hour instead of every 20 minutes except during rush hours; departures every hour instead of every 20 minutes from 19-21.
    Saturdays: Departures every half-hour instead of every 20 minutes from 8-18..
  • Summer:
    Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour from 19-21.
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour from 8-18.

Route 52 Drammen-Mjøndalen-Hokksund

  • This route will only run between Drammen and Mjøndalen, eliminating the Mjøndalen-Hokksund section.

Route 61 Lierbyen skole – Bera

  • Winter:
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (7-9 and 21-24).
  • Summer:
    Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the early morning and evening (5–6 and 21-24).
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour all day (8-23).

Route 71 Asker-Tranby-Lierbyen-Drammen

  • Winter:
    Weekdays: The 5:15 departure from Asker is removed; alternatives are at 4:45 and 5:45. Departures every hour late evening instead of every half-hour (8:30–22:30).
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (8–11 and 20-24).
    Sundays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour in the morning and evening (10-12  and 20-23).
  • Summer:
    Weekdays: The 5:15 departure from Asker is removed; alternatives are at 4:45 and 5:45. Departures every hour in the evening instead of every half-hour.
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour during the day (8-18).

Route 92 Mariås-Svelvik ferjekai

  • All year
    Weekdays: The following departures are cut: Svelvik ferjekai to Mariås at 9:45, 10:45, and 11:45; Mariås to Svelvik ferjekai at 9:55, 10:55, and 11:55.
  • Saturdays: All departures are cut.

Route 100 Hønefoss-Vikersund-Drammen

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Weekdays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 19:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 20:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 21:09 and 22:09.
    • Saturdays: Hønefoss -Vikersund at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09 and 19:09.
    • Sundays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09, 19:09, and 20:09.
  • Summer:
    The following departures are cut:

    • Weekdays: Hønefoss-Vikersund at 18:05, Drammen-Vikersund at 20:09.
    • Saturdays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 18:05, Drammen-Vikersund at 20:09.
    • Sundays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 10:05 and 16:05, Drammen-Hønefoss at 8:09, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09.

Route 101 Vikersund-Hokksund-Drammen

  • Winter:
    The following departures are cut:

    • Weekdays: Drammen-Hokksund at 22:56 and 23:56, Hokksund-Drammen at 22:27, Vikersund-Drammen at 21:10.
    • Saturdays: Drammen-Hokksund at 23:26, Hokksund-Drammen at 21:57 and 22:57.
    • Sundays: Drammen-Hokksund at 23:26.

Route 169 Lierbyen-Oslo

  • Route 169 will be maintained as a rush hour service on weekdays only. Costs will be covered by reducing other services in Lier combined with increased fares. Details about the service are not yet finalized.

Route 52 Drammen-Mjøndalen-Hokksund

  • This route will only run between Drammen and Mjøndalen, eliminating the Mjøndalen-Hokksund section.

Route 100 Hønefoss-Vikersund-Drammen

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Weekdays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 19:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 20:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 21:09 and 22:09.
    • Saturdays: Hønefoss -Vikersund at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09 and 19:09.
    • Sundays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09, 19:09, and 20:09.
  • Summer:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Weekdays: Hønefoss-Vikersund at 18:05, Drammen-Vikersund at 20:09.

Route 101 Vikersund-Hokksund-Drammen

    • Weekdays: Drammen-Hokksund at 22:56 and 23:56, Hokksund-Drammen at 22:27, Vikersund-Drammen at 21:10.
    • Saturdays: Drammen-Hokksund at 23:26, Hokksund-Drammen at 21:57 and 22:57.
    • Sundays: Drammen-Hokksund at 23:26.

Route 104 Vikersund-Åmot

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut: Sundays: Vikersund-Åmot at 13:30, Åmot-Vikersund at 17:20.

Route 105 Åmot-Eggedal-Berghammeren

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Fridays: Eggedal-Åmot at 19:25, Åmot-Eggedal at 22:00.
    • Sundays: Åmot-Berghammeren at 13:45, Berghammeren-Åmot at 15:30.

Route 116 Hokksund-Skotselv

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut: Hokksund-Skotselv at 11:10 and 13:10, Skotselv-Hokksund at 11:30 and 13:30.
  • Summer:
    The following departures are cut: Hokksund-Skotselv at 9:10 and 12:10, Skotselv-Hokksund at 9:30 and 12:30.

Route 117 Hokksund-Ormåsen

  • Summer:
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Hokksund-Ormåsen at 5:17, Ormåsen-Hokksund at 5:35.

Route 118 Hokksund-Vestfossen-Darbu

  • All year: 
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Hokksund-Vestfossen-Darbu at 10:50 and 12:50, Darbu-Vestfossen-Hokksund at 11:25 and 13:25.

Route 125 Hokksund-Harakollen

  • Summer:
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Hokksund-Harakollen at 8:55, 10:55, 12:55, 14:55, and 16:55, Harakollen-Hokksund at 9:04, 11:04, 13:04, 15:04, and 17:04.

Route 420 Kongsberg-Rødberg-Geilo

  • Summer:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Weekdays: Rødberg-Kongsberg at 13:35, Kongsberg-Rødberg at 19:35.
    • Sundays: Rødberg-Kongsberg at 18:30, Kongsberg-Rødberg at 21:35.

Route 430 Kongsberg-Hvittingfoss-Svarstad

  • Winter:
    The following departures are cut on weekdays: Kongsberg-Hvittingfoss at 17:02, Hvittingfoss-Kongsberg at 18:00.
  • Summer:
    The following departures are cut on weekdays: Kongsberg-Svarstad at 14:35, Svarstad-Kongsberg at 7:33.

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Saturdays: Hønefoss -Vikersund at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09 and 19:09.
    • Sundays: Hønefoss-Drammen at 16:05, Vikersund-Drammen at 17:40, Drammen-Vikersund at 18:09, 19:09, and 20:09.

Route 200 Hønefoss-Oslo

  • All year:
    Weekdays: The Hønefoss-Oslo departure at 06:10 will be cut.
    Sundays: Departures every two hours instead of every hour.

Route 222 Heradsbygda-Hønefoss

  • All year:
    Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour between 19:00 and 21:00.
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour between 15:00 and 18:00.

Route 223 Hønefoss-Haugsbygd

  • All year:
    The following departures will be cut: Monday to Sunday: Schjongslunden-Smeden at 21:10, Smeden-Schjongslunden at 21:28.

Route 228 Haldenjordet-Hvervenmoen

  • All year:
    Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour between 19:00 and 21:00.
    Saturdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour between 18:00 and 21:00.
    Summer: Weekdays: Departures every hour instead of every half-hour between 18:00 and 21:00.

Route 232 Hønefoss-Hallingby

  • All year:
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Hønefoss-Hallingby at 17:15, Hallingby-Hønefoss at 17:45.

Route 233 Hønefoss-Hallingby/Elsrud

  • All year:
    All departures will only be on school days. Previously, some departures ran on school holidays.

Route 241 Hønefoss-Sokna/Noresund

  • All year:
    The following departures will be cut: Saturdays Noresund-Hønefoss at 10:00, Hønefoss-Noresund at 15:25.

Linje 330 Geilo-Ål-Gol-Nesbyen

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Geilo-Gol at 09:20, Gol-Geilo at 11:05, Nesbyen-Gol at 15:55, Gol-Nesbyen at 16:30.
  • Summer:
    The following departures will be cut:

    • Weekdays: Geilo-Nesbyen: two out of five trips will be cut. Nesbyen-Geilo: two out of five trips will be cut.
    • Sundays: Both trips in both directions will be cut.

Route 331 Myrland-Hagafoss

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut: Weekdays (operates only on school days) Sunhov-Hagafoss at 09:20, Hagafoss-Sunhov at 09:35.

Route 332 Geilo-Gol-Flå

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut: Weekdays (operates only on school days) Ål-Hagafoss at 09:15, Hagafoss-Ål at 10:05.

Route 334 Geilo-Haugastøl

  • Winter:
    The following departures will be cut on weekdays: Geilo-Solheim snuplass at 09:15, Solheim snuplass-Geilo at 10:10.
  • Summer:
    All departures on route 334 will be cut (has been an on demand-route). Alternative: Use Skyss route 991 Geilo-Eidfjord-Odda.

Route 345 Geilo-Tuva

  • Summer:
    Will be discontinued. This route has only operated in the summer.

Route 360 Tuv-Hemsedal- Gol

  • Winter:
    Saturday: One of two trips will be cut in both directions.
    Sunday: One of two trips will be cut in both directions.
  • Summer:
    Saturday: Both trips in both directions will be cut.
    Sunday: Both trips in both directions will be cut.

Hallingbussen Vy 175 Geilo-Oslo

  • Today’s subsidies to Hallingbussen is maintained.
