From Monday 24 November, Brakar will be adjusting the bus timetable on several Lines in Drammen and Lier. We are continuously working to make your journey simple, predictable, and seamless, and these changes are a part of that effort. The adjustments are being made to improve punctuality, increase capacity during peak hours, and ensure better connections between certain Lines.
One of the bigger changes is the re-routing of Line 1 Sørensvingen – Drammen sykehus Brakerøya, which will now go via Betzy Kjelsbergs vei. This adjustment follows input from residents along Betzy Kjelsbergs vei and simultaneously solves traffic flow problems that have occurred in Wøiengata/the junction by Åssiden Upper Secondary School. The goal is to create better accessibility and more reliable travel times for everyone using this line.
In addition, we have observed that the capacity on Line 4 Kniveåsen – Bera has not been optimal during the morning rush hour. We are therefore strengthening the service with an extra departure. This will also contribute to a better local service in Åssiden, particularly in connection with schools.
Brakar is also reinstating previously cancelled departures on Line 56 Drammen – Mjøndalen and Line 54 Mjøndalen – Hovjordet, which have been requested by our passengers. Furthermore, we are improving the connection between Line 71 Lierbyen – Asker and Line 63 Lierbyen – Sylling in Lierbyen.
All changes will come into effect from Monday 24 November. There are also minor timetable adjustments on some Lines. See the full overview below. Remember to check the Travel Planner (Reiseplanleggeren) or the Brakar app for the exact times for your journey.
Changes in Drammen
Several lines are being adjusted to ensure better flow and coverage in the Drammen area:
Line 1 Mjøndalen – Åssiden – Drammen drammen Brakerøya: To improve flow, the driving route is changing. All departures to and from Sørensvingen will now run via Betzy Kjelsbergs vei instead of Rosenkrantzgata. This results in changed departure times across the entire Line 1 route, including Line 1 to Mjøndalen. The departure for Line 1 to/from Mjøndalen will still run along Rosenkrantzgata. Be sure to check the new departure times if you travel on this line.
Line 4 Kniveåsen – Bera: An expanded service for commuters! The morning journey at 07:32 from Kniveåsen on weekdays (excluding summer, Christmas, and Easter holidays) is extended from Bragernes torg to Bera snuplass, arriving at 08:16.
Line 14 Underlia – Tolerud: Services departing from Underlia at 08:41, 10:41, 12:41, 16:41, and 18:41 will now terminate at Bragernes Torg. In compensation, new services will be introduced from Bragernes Torg to Tolerud turning loop at 09:55, 11:55, 13:55, 17:55, and 19:55.
Line 15 Strøtvet – Austad Skog: Some afternoon and evening services from Bragernes Torg to Austad Skog are moved forward by two minutes to 10:53, 12:53, 14:53, 18:53, and 20:53. Check the new times to avoid delays.
Line 37 Mælen/Svingen/Lolland – St. Hallvard/Lier Upper Secondary School: The morning service at 07:44 from Lollandkrysset on school days will now start earlier, from Kniveåsen at 07:31, and is shortened to end at Bragernes Torg. Passengers continuing to Lier/St. Hallvard Upper Secondary School must change to one of the other school buses on Line 37, Line 71, or Line 139 at Platform B.
Line 54 Mjøndalen – Hovjordet and Line 56 Drammen – Mjøndalen: The service is being strengthened with new rush-hour services:
- Line 54 gets a new service from Stenseth at 15:46 to Hovjordet.
- Line 56 gets a new service from Hovjordet at 08:28 to Bragernes Torg on school days.
Changes in Lier
Adjustments are also being made in Lier to improve connections and adapt school transport services:
Line 63 Drammen – Sylling (Weekend): To ensure a better connection with Line 71 from Asker, all services from Drammen Bus Station will depart from Lierbyen Bus Terminal two minutes later. Only the timetables on the stretch between Lierbyen and Sylling are affected.
Line 66 Sylling – Lierbyen/Nordal (School Days): The service from Lier Upper Secondary School at 15:00 will now terminate at Lierbyen Bus Terminal and will no longer run to Sylling. In compensation, the service from Lier Upper Secondary School at 15:55 is extended all the way to Sylling, arriving at 16:35.
