Swipe and travel – and pay per kilometer
We are currently testing a brand-new ticketing app that makes travel easier and pricing fairer – you only pay for the distance you travel.
We have partnered with the Swiss technology company FAIRTIQ to test a new mobile-based payment solution. This is part of our effort to explore the future of ticketing, with the goal of simplifying daily life for you as a traveler. The pilot project is being conducted in Drammen, Lier, and Øvre Eiker, and also includes bus lines 100 and 101 towards Vikersund, and line 169 between Lierbyen and Oslo.

The smart price
With Brakar’s pilot project for distance-based ticketing, the system is designed to automatically ensure you get the best price.
- Simple: You don’t have to worry about zones, ticket types, or whether a single ticket or a day pass is the better option.
- Distance-based: You only pay for the actual distance traveled as the crow flies (kilometers), not for zones.
- Price Cap (“Capping”): You will never pay more than 155 NOK (78 NOK for children/seniors/bicycles) per journey. This is a pilot, and we are gathering experience to develop more capping levels and bonuses in the future.
Important for the pilot: The goal is more affordable travel, but please note that some trips during the pilot period may be more expensive than current zone pricing. Your feedback is crucial for further development!

How it works: Check in and out for distance-based fares
With the new ticketing app, the need to know fare zones and ticket types in advance is gone. You only need your smartphone. Simply download the FAIRTIQ app, swipe to start before you board the bus, and receive a valid ticket without having to specify your destination. If you change buses, the app automatically detects the transfer and continues to track your journey. You have a 30-minute transfer window. When you get off the bus, simply swipe to end the journey. If you forget, the app will send a notification or end the journey automatically. The best available price is then calculated for you. Sign up here

Fairtiq er en ny app for billettkjøp som er en del av et prøveprosjekt med distansebaserte priser for Brakar. I stedet for å betale for en bestemt sone, betaler du kun for den faktiske avstanden du reiser. Dette skal gi et mer rettferdig og enklere prissystem, og løse utfordringer knyttet til dagens sonegrenser.
Dagens sonesystem kan oppleves som urettferdig, spesielt for de som bor nær en sonegrense. Målet med piloten er å kartlegge hvordan kundene oppfatter distansebaserte priser, og om det kan gi en enklere og mer rettferdig prismodell.
Du bruker sjekk-inn/sjekk-ut (CICO) teknologi. Før du går på bussen, drar du knappen i appen for å sjekke inn. Når du har fullført reisen og går av, drar du knappen for å sjekke ut. Appen beregner automatisk riktig billett og pris basert på reisen din.
Du skal aldri betale mer enn nødvendig. Systemet garanterer deg automatisk den laveste prisen for den distansen du har reist, og du slipper å forholde deg til sonegrenser.
Appen har en funksjon for å oppdage at du har stoppet å reise. Du vil motta en varsling som minner deg på å sjekke ut. Hvis du ikke gjør det, vil appen i de fleste tilfeller automatisk avslutte reisen din på riktig sted.
Fairtiq-piloten gjelder foreløpig for Brakars busslinjer i Drammen, Lier og Øvre Eiker, inkludert linje 100, 101 og 169.
Du trenger internett for å sjekke inn og for å fullføre betaling etter reisen. Hvis du mister internett underveis, vil appen fortsette å spore reisen, men sørg for å ha en stabil forbindelse når du sjekker inn og ut.

Systemet er designet for å sikre at du alltid får den billigste, distansebaserte prisen. Du trenger ikke å bekymre deg for å betale for mye, da dette er en automatisk garanti i Fairtiq-teknologien. Appen vil korrigere reisen og prisen ved behov.
Du registrerer et betalingskort i appen. Du kan også bruke Apple Pay. Betaling for alle reisene dine samles opp og trekkes fra betalingsmåten din.
For å kunne beregne den nøyaktige distansen du reiser, må appen bruke din posisjonsdata (lokasjon). Dette er nødvendig for at den distansebaserte prisingen skal fungere og sikre at du får riktig pris.
Brakar og Fairtiq tar personvern og datasikkerhet på alvor. Posisjonsdata brukes kun til å beregne reisen din og prisen. All data behandles i henhold til gjeldende lover og retningslinjer.
Nei, for øyeblikket er det ikke mulig å kjøpe billett til andre enn deg selv. Medreisende må kjøpe vanlig bussbillet via Brakar-appen, entur eller vy.
Det er mulig å legge til sykkel i FAIRTIQ-appen. Dette koster det samme som en barnebillett.
På denne piloten er det 30 minutters overgangstid. Hvis du har mer enn 30 minutter mellom reisene dine, vil en ny reise bli kalkulert (inkludert grunnpris). Prisen er den samme uansett om du er sjekket inn hele tiden, eller om du sjekker inn og ut igjen.
