Expanding our city bike service

Brakar is expanding the electric city bike service. You can now pick up and park bikes at even more locations in Kongsberg and Lier.

New bike sharing zones in Kongsberg and Lier

We have now established several new parking zones where you can pick up and drop off our city bikes.

Three new zones in Kongsberg:

  • Skavanger
  • Magasinparken
  • Kongsgårdsmoen

Four new zones in Lier:

Lier Upper Secondary School (Lier videregående skole) – charging stations coming soon

  • Gullaug
  • Amtmannsvingen
  • Engersand – charging stations coming soon

How to use the new zones 

Most of the new bike parking zones are without charging stations. When renting a bike, you can simply leave it within the clearly marked and signposted area.

In total, there are approximately 80 bikes available in Kongsberg and Lier. About half of the fleet remained in operation throughout the winter equipped with studded tires. Feedback from our customers indicated that many felt it was unsafe to cycle during the winter months. However, data from this spring and early summer shows a steady and positive increase in bike usage.
