Bus Service Reduction

This article has been updated with new information about route 169 and cuts in Lier (17.06.24).

The Transport Committee in Buskerud County Municipality approved on Tuesday, 9th April, the coalition's proposal for cuts to the bus route offerings in Buskerud. The proposal entails both major and minor reductions to the bus service across the county.

Brakar has been instructed by the county municipalities to cut NOK 45 million per year. The cuts, which have been approved, are primarily achieved by reducing summer routes, weekend services, routes in rural areas, and services outside of rush hour. Statutory school transport will not be affected.

The cuts will be implemented from the summer and autumn of 2024:

  • Cuts listed under "summer" in the overview will take effect at the end of the school term in June.
  • Cuts listed under "all year" and "winter" in the overview will take effect at the start of the school term in August (including route 169).
  • Routes 14, 15, 16, and 21 in Drammen will be discontinued at the start of the school term in August.
